Ahh,Glenwood

A weekend to Glenwood was just what Travis and I needed to recharge and get away from the craziness that has been the last couple weeks. Travis planned the trip and I must say he did a great job! (As always). We went to Glenwood once last winter and decided we liked it so much that we'd go back this time, too. Glad we did!

We stayed at the historic Hotel Colorado, built in 1893. Really neat, old building! Definitely a difference from today's Holiday Inns and Ramadas.

It may or may not be haunted. I wasn't worried until we saw a little girl at the end of this hallway (that really resembles the hallway in The Shining!). But she just walked to the elevator and pushed the button. And she was wearing Ugg boots. Any little girl in Uggs can't be dangerous.

We, of course, visited the hot springs and the vapor caves like last time. And we also went to Glenwood Adventure Park via gondola, as shown.

With a "handicapable" person our options for things to do were a bit limited at the park, but the views were amazing! We also took a cave tour, which was awesome despite our somewhat grouchy guide. *(For those of you who don't know, Travis decided that he REALLY didn't want to help me move apartments so last weekend he took a spill on his snowboard and dislocated his shoulder. A bit extreme to get out of moving, if you ask me. But apparently walking around the mountains with a sling is an open invitation for EVERYONE to tell you their battle stories from the slopes. Pretty funny, actually.)

And on our way home today we decided to stop in Breckenridge to mingle with the ski bums and admire all of the expensive gear we'll never be able to afford. And just our luck, it was the International Snow Sculpture competition. (Yes, that is a real thing.) This was one of our faves.

I had a great weekend and now I'm ready to tackle moving day - much love from the Rockies!

The wheels are in motion

Changes, they are a comin'! I will soon bid adieu to the dungeon basement room. I shall miss thee, sewage, mold, and asbestos. But I'm moving on to bigger and better things. Namely, an apartment. With carpet. And windows. Be still my heart!

You had better believe there is a story that goes along with this! All in good time, my friends, all in good time. And until then, who is free for a moving party on the 31st?

A snowy Nebraska day

A lot of snow-clearing. Alex probably would have cleared every driveway in Elk City if Papa would have let him. It is, after all, much cozier in a heated tractor cab.

... Also perfect for a "fancy ladies" tea party! Belle came too, of course. I know those tiny tea cups can't hold much water, but let's just say that after 5 hours of tea party I was well-hydrated for my flight!

What better reason to come to home than to celebrate Katie's baby? I get to see all my favorite ladies AND go to a Deb party? Yes, please.

Mother Goose was the theme and Deb is a superb party-thrower. (Even if she did rig the game with nursery rhymes that she claims "were in the book")

When did we get old enough to start going to baby showers FOR OUR OWN GROUP? Ahh!

Katie, you will be an AWESOME mom! I can't wait to meet baby Ryder and see him grow up. He couldn't have better parents :)

Everything happens for a reason, right?

This is what I keep telling myself. Back in Denver and on the job search. Working a few hours a week at WFP, which is awesome, and meeting everyone I can for coffee/networking. I may develop a permanent caffeine twitch.

Hopefully some big changes coming my way soon! (No I'm not getting married or having a baby, so DON'T go spreading those rumors around!) But I will fill you all in as soon as I can, my loyal blog followers. Until then, keep your fingers crossed for me, por favor :)

Back in Denver...

... and trying to figure out the next step(s). The last month or so has been a whirlwind and I'm hoping that things will fall into place now that it has settled down. We'll see!

One thing I am happy about - the fact that I saved 1/2 of my Runza from North Platte for lunch today. YUM. How was I home for 3 weeks and only had ONE Runza?? Seriously?!
