Eric Church
We went to the Boulder Theater on Saturday to see Eric Church...SUCH a good concert! A small venue, too, so we were pretty close...
There was a song about boots. People took their boots off. I wasn't expecting that.

Another quarter
Another quarter, and another 17-letter word of the day! This week's word is: multicollinearity. Thanks to Sarah for pointing it out...don't even ask me what it means!
Week one of classes is over already! This quarter I am taking two classes in the International Business school: 1) Environment and Sustainable Development, 2) Social Science Research Methods. I may be in over my head already. BUT our research methods professor is Bri'ish, and I could listen to him speak all day. Whether or not I comprehend anything he's saying is a completely different matter.
Last night I went with Sarah to....dun duh duh DUNNN... my first Irish Snug Run! (No, it isn't a run with a snuggie, sorry Ash!) But it is a running club at a bar downtown. That's right, hundreds of people get together every Thursday to run a 5K and then head to the bar for free pasta and cheap happy hour drinks. I could get used to this! http://www.irishsnugrunners.com/index.htm

Bearcats do Denver
I had SUCH a great time with Phil and Finke these past few days - thanks for coming to visit, guys! We definitely had a true Colorado experience... Look at the pictures from Boulder on Thursday, and then have a look at these from Denver on Friday. Yup, 6-8 inches of snow. But that didn't stop us from being tourists! Pictures are much more interesting than anything I could have to say, so I'll just let them do the talking. Enjoy!
Phil & Finke in front of the State Capitol. Brrr.
Exactly one mile above sea level.

Spring Break WOO-HOO!
Classes are done - bring on Mexico!! Wait, wait, I'm taking a class over spring break. Dang. BUT definitely found time to celebrate with the St. Patty's Day parade on Saturday. Apparently it is a big deal. I found it to be the LONGEST parade ever! But what a great day...
Will the parade ever start?
Super-scary larger-than-life puppet. Yikes. But the random man in my picture liked it!

DONE!
That's right, we're done! Done with the class fondly referred to as "semiontic phonomenology" or "counterhegemonic interpollation" or something like that... We headed to a local watering hole for a post-class drink and talked our way into pro-rated happy hour. (Courtesy of, ahem, yours truly. You'd be proud, Dad!) Not the entire class made it, but we had a pretty good turn out. Refer to below picture where we all look like ghosts, the odd-ginger (Peter? Paul? Mary?) looks terrified, and Suzanne is trying to hide behind Kelly. Oddly enough, it looks as though we are all performing Whiteness to the extreme in this photo ...coincidence?
The afternoon was productive, as well. We planned more IIC events and brainstormed ideas for an IIC slogan to put on a T-shirt. The candidates are:
1) Multiparidigmatic collaboration (Or something of the sorts...Sam has better ideas.)
2) Ritchie likes rice
3) Have you performed your whiteness today?
Votes??

2 more classes
Two more...and that is IT for this quarter! Final papers are being printed today.
Stats:
1) - Literature review on the effect of mass communication technologies on the Aboriginal Australian communities: 25 pages
2)- PR Campaign for the Elias Fund consisting of Zimbabwean background research as well as PR objectives, strategies, and tactics for the next two years: 30 pages
3)- Take-home final paper: tbd. (We can't even access it until Thursday, and it is due on Monday. My goal is to have it done by Friday. It will not control my weekend!)
Update: There are now multiple little yellow flowers popping up, a sure sign of warmer days to come. But it is also supposed to snow today. Can you make up your mind, Colorado? And please, lean towards Spring...

Dead week.
Ahh, dead week. Not dead at all. In fact, it should be called "screw the reading, I'm too busy frantically typing" week. That's a bit more realistic.
On the bright side - next week is the last week of classes for this quarter! Only four more 8-syllable-word classes...not that I'm counting down, or anything. The entire class is planning on going for happy hour drinks next Thursday when the class is finally done. The only problem is: we can't find a happy hour that starts before 3 p.m., and class gets out at 2. What to do, what to do...
Dare I say I'm doing alright on my final projects? (I'm scared I'll jinx myself!) I'm putting the finishing touches on my PR campaign, but have yet to really work on my literature review for my other class. You see, the campaign is interesting to me so I don't mind working on it, while the lit review is not. Guess I'll have to find some way to power through!
Hope all is well! Is the snow melting in Nebraska, yet?
